For Thomas Street, move in day is 29 August 2020. For Parkgate, move in day is 5 September 2020. You will receive an email prior to move in day with instructions about what to bring, when to arrive and all other move in instructions. If you have an issue with the move in day at either site, please call the onsite accommodation team.

Yay – we loved having you! Please talk to on site staff to discuss booking for next year. We will do our best to keep you in your same room or move you to a room of your choice, if available. Remember, first come, first served so let us know early!

Yes. Please call or email the accommodation team to discuss your exact parameters and we will find the perfect spot for you.

Nope. We’ve set up flexible payment plans so you can pay one, two, four or eight times during your stay.

We have a few ways to pay – either online by credit card using FuturePay or by bank transfer. You will find both options on our booking page. Please contact the onsite team if you have any questions.

Do I need to pay a deposit?2020-06-08T14:06:44+00:00

Yes. Your refundable deposit is €300. If there are no damages to your room when you vacate at the end of your tenancy, your deposit will be refunded. The best part is your deposit is not due until your first rent installment on 9 August 2020 so you can book now, pay later!

I am a student of TU Dublin. How do I book a room at Parkgate in the TUD block?2020-02-17T13:28:27+00:00

Congratulations! Parkgate is the perfect home for students studying at TUD. To book in the TUD block, you will need the TUD booking code which you should have from TUD marketing material or the TUD website. You then go on to our booking page and enter the code where it asks for a Nomination Code. Please email the Parkgate team once you’ve booked to confirm whether you want to book for 39 or 51 weeks parkgate@highlightstudentliving.com

Of course! Go to our booking page and look for apartments with two (or more if you’re booking with many friends!) rooms available. If you can’t find an apartment that suits your needs, please call or email the onsite accommodation team and we will do our best to assist you.

Unfortunately we can’t guarantee it but we will do our best to show you a room in the same category or with the same view if possible.

How do I accept a tenancy agreement?2020-02-17T13:24:54+00:00

Log in to the student portal with your email and password you set up whilst making your application. Proceed with your “to do” list and fill out all the information requested.

Can I arrange an in-person or virtual viewing?2020-06-08T14:08:32+00:00

Please do! You’re going to love the room in person. Please call or email us to arrange a viewing or just show up – our show apartment is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am – 5:30pm.

If you’re not able to physically be in Dublin, we are happy to provide a virtual tour via Skype or WhatsApp video. Give us a call or email so we can virtually meet!

Yes, our quiet hours start from 10pm. We ask you be respectful of the living space for you and others living with you.

No, there is no parking at either site. There is a public parking lot across the street from Thomas Street and a public parking lot at the Ashling Hotel across the street from Parkgate.

Yes! We love meeting your friends! We have no restrictions when it comes to bringing visitors to your room or common living area. We just ask that you respect our quiet hours and that you ask your apartment mates for permission before you bring visitors. Remember it is their living space also so we must all be respectful.

Will my bedroom be cleaned by Highlight staff?2020-02-17T13:34:17+00:00

Nope, this one’s up to you! We have hoovers and cleaning materials you can borrow so you have no excuses! We do have cleaning staff onsite who keep the common areas clean but they will not be responsible for cleaning your bedroom, bathroom, living room/kitchen or corridor.

A small double is exactly as it sounds – a little bit smaller than a double! Small doubles measure 120cm wide and 190cm long. But don’t worry, double sheets and duvets will fit perfectly.

Nope! We’ve made it super easy for you. All bills are included in your rent including TV license and, most importantly, Wi-Fi! The only thing you need to do is pay your rent!

Am I allowed to smoke in my room?2020-02-17T13:33:21+00:00

No. Our buildings are non-smoking. Smoking in your room, your living room, kitchen, or any of the building’s common areas will result in your removal from the property. We do have a designated outdoor area for smoking at each site.

Can I have pets at Highlight?2020-02-18T16:21:47+00:00

Unfortunately, no. Whilst we would love to be a pet friendly environment, you’ll have to leave your dogs, cats, rabbits and iguanas at home. If you have a Service Animal or Emotional Support Animal, please email the onsite accommodation team to discuss your needs and accommodation options.

Do I need to move out over the Christmas and Easter holidays?2020-02-17T13:42:25+00:00

No. The room is yours for the full length of the tenancy with no need to move out if you’re going on holiday.

Yes! Contents insurance is included in your rent with Cover4Insurance. If you have any questions, please ask the onsite team.

Will my room be inspected during my tenancy?2020-02-17T13:41:53+00:00

Yes. We carry out full room and apartment inspections three times during your tenancy where we check for cleanliness, damage and missing items. You will be given advance notice before inspections. If you have any questions, please ask the onsite team.

Is everything in the building open 24 hours a day?2020-02-17T13:41:33+00:00

Everything is open 24 hours a day except for the gym. The study room, common area, social space and laundry room are all open 24/7. The gym opens at 6am and closes at 10pm.

Can I rent out the social space for a party or other event?2020-02-17T13:41:14+00:00

No you cannot rent out the social space. However, you can have your friends over in the social space!

Can people send me letters and parcels?2020-02-17T13:40:46+00:00

Yes, of course. Snail mail is the best! Each apartment has an individual post box. If you’ve been sent a parcel that won’t fit in the post box, we will accept it on your behalf and enter it on our Parcel Log. When a parcel is received for you, just come to Reception during our normal opening hours with your photo ID to collect your parcel. Parcels cannot be given to anyone else so please don’t send your friends to collect them! Parcels will be kept for 30 days. If you do not collect the item during this time, or we do not hear from you to advise that collection will be delayed, the parcel will be returned to sender. If you are awaiting the delivery of an important parcel or letter, we recommend you arrange with the courier to be present to accept the item. Whilst we are happy to accept parcels on your behalf, we will not be held responsible for any losses. At the end of your tenancy, you will need to inform all of your contacts of your new postal address as we are unable to forward any mail received after your tenancy has ended. Don’t worry though, we’ll remind you nearer to the time!

What if I need to terminate my residency early? Can I get out of my tenancy?2020-02-17T13:40:24+00:00

As a tenant who has signed a Licence to Reside for a term length, you do not have the right to end your tenancy early even if you are no longer a student. Please contact the onsite accommodation team if you have any questions.

Are there laundry facilities on site? How much do they cost?2020-02-18T16:23:14+00:00

Yes! Both Thomas Street and Parkgate have a laundry room with card operated washer and dryers managed by Circuit Laundry.  The cost is €3.70 per wash and €2.20 for a 50 minute dry.  To use the machines, we recommend all students download the Circuit App on your phone circuit.co.uk/mobile-app. Instructions on how to use the machines can be found in the Laundry Room.  If you are unsure about how to use the machines, please do not hesitate to ask the onsite team.  Highlight will not be responsible for items that may be lost, stolen or damaged whilst using the facilities.

Additionally, with Laundry View, provided by the Circuit App, you are able to check the availability of washers and dryers on the app. You can also check the status of your wash or dry cycle and be notified when your cycle is complete.  No more wasted time watching your clothes spin!

How do I log a maintenance request?2020-02-17T13:38:44+00:00
  1. Log in to the Student Portal
  2. Follow these steps:
    • Check you have completed your “To do” list
    • Click on the “Enter” button under bookings
    • You should then see a wheel of icons
    • Select the Orange Icon
    • Log your maintenance request
  3. If your request is urgent, please contact the onsite team in person immediately! Do not use the maintenance portal to log an urgent request.
Where can I find the parcel log?2020-02-17T13:37:33+00:00

We have an updated Google doc where we log parcels which we will share with you at the beginning of your tenancy. We also have a QR code at Reception which you can scan when you pass by to easily access the parcel log and see if you have a parcel waiting.

How do I log and manage the inventory in my room?2020-02-17T13:37:15+00:00

Once you have moved in, log in to your student portal and complete the “to do” list. Please do this within 48 hours of receiving the email requesting you manage inventory. Once completed, you will be able to access the inventory by clicking “Enter”, then selecting “Administration” from the wheel.

The student portal is your go to spot for information regarding your tenancy, your room, and the building. Use your email and the password you set up whilst making your application. If this does not work, or you have forgotten your password, please go to our Booking Page and click “Forget Password” to reset your password.

Possibly. If there is available space over the summer, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please speak with your onsite accommodation team.

Hopefully! If there are no damages to your room, we will refund your booking deposit. If there are damages, we will refund your booking deposit less the cost of the damages.

For a 41 week tenancy at Thomas Street, your move out date is 12 June 2021. For a 51 week tenancy at Thomas Street, your move out date is 21 August 2021. For a 39 week tenancy at Parkgate, your move out date is 5 June 2021. For a 51 week tenancy at Parkgate, your move out date is 28 August 2021.
